Information for QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component usersApple has updated the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component for compatibility with QuickTime 7.6. This is a free update for past purchasers of the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component. If you are a past purchaser, you can download the new software by visiting the Apple Online Store and clicking on "Account" in the store menu. Click "Downloadable Software Purchases," enter your Apple ID and password, and you will see a link to the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component. Click the link to download and install the new version.
New in QuickTime 7 Player QuickTime 7 Player provides many exciting new features.
• H.264 video support. Watch movies created with this state-of-the-art, standards-based codec which delivers exceptional-quality video at the lowest data rate possible.
• Live resize. Playback continues smoothly as you change the size of the QuickTime Player window.
